I am about to order an 2004 Excursion and I want a Black 6.0 Limited. I also want the flint (grey) interior, but It only comes with the parchment on the limited. Why can't I get the Flint?! I like the all black and some of the options that the limited has, otherwise I would go with the XLT and load on the options.
Does anyone know why Ford does this and/or how I can get a flint interior. My dealership informed me that if I order 5 I can have it. (I don't need 5, just one)
Thanks for everyone's help. I have been reading this forum and it has helped in my decision for the new X.

Yes, I thought it odd that my ebony clearcoat with black EVERYTHING including the bumpers only comes with a BROWN interior !!!
I guess their Mom never taught them that black and brown are NOT matching colors !
But the black exterior was TOO nice to pass up - and the parchment interior was on my '02 Ex - so I was used to it !

Is there a way to go to Ford themselves? It seems to me that the reasons that they are doing this are not worth anything, since they do offer the other interior on the XL/XLT. |

I have a friend that lives in South Lake Tahoe and he went to buy a new F250 PSD with every thing you can order. Hisonly problem was not being able to get the interior color he wanted. He called Ford, other dealers and nothing. He got so upset that he bought a Chevy. You are stuck with their color choices.

I have not thought of the Chevy (suburban) because I have a 1999 and it is the biggest disappointment in a vehicle that I have ever seen/heard of. (135K - on my 3rd transmission, 3rd alternator, 2nd transfer case, 2nd starter, had the top of the engine rebuilt and now I am replacing it because it blew. The rear shock bracket came off the rear axle. 13 sets of front pads, 6 front rotors, numerous electrical problems, the seat belt frayed b/c the guide is set for someone who sits too close to the steering wheel, and the driver's seat need to be replaces b/c the leather has completely fallen apart.)
I would hope that Ford would be a little more catering to their customer's wants and needs. Another thought, according to my dealer, is to get 4 more people who want grey leather in a limited. He said if I were to order 5, I could get grey (flint).... Any takers? |
