I have a 2000 X and am starting to have some issues at 120k. I am having some noise in the drivers side front that increases the faster I go and is not affected by brake pressure(wheel bearing??) and have started to notice a smell of antifreeze under the hood after long trips, it looks a little wet behind the fuel filter....any ideas? I also am having problems with it pulling towards the driver side intermittently when the brakes are applied, it has new rotors and pads, any ideas? I am a new diesel owner, I bought it at 93k from an Engineer at Ford, any help would be appreciated, Thanks! I will set and have another cold one ;-)

Run a pressure test on your cooling system. I would bet that your heater core is leaking. Check up under the passenger side dash to look for wetness.

The pull is from one caliper engaging more than the other. If it is pulling to the driver's side then the passenger side caliper could be frozen or the pads may have grease on them....something that makes that side not grab as hard. Mine did the same thing and it turned out that it was frozen-rust accumulation underneath the dust boots on the sliders.

Hope everything turns out ok!

Got it all figured out, had two bad wheel bearings and bad tie rod ends. Also had a air leak near my intercooler that was causing horsepower loss, the thing drives like new now and onle has 120k on it
