was wondering if there is a aftermarket stereo that will let you have the music up front and the movies on the headsets out back?

JimmyBigRig,

I can listen to the music while the girls sit in the back listening to the movie on wireless headphones (sounds weird when you hear no noise from the back but giggles at whatever they are watching), if it is a movie I want to listen to while driving I just hit a toggle switch and it plays out the speakers (gets the surround sound on certain movies)... As Mike & Jody stated, endless possibilities

2000 Excursion Ltd 4x4, Air Raid, Good Year 305x70x16 on stock rim, Reflex shocks, ACCER DVD system, JVC audio system, stainless steel bug shield - TRADED! Black 2003 Excursion Ltd 4x4, loaded! SWAPPED! White 2003 Excursion Eddie Bauer, loaded also! Will stay stock for the winter months ahead!

i was just not sure a after market stereo would be able to do what my factory would do in terms of having the ability to watch the tv in the back and stereo for the adults up front. as for what i am doing nothing to crazy just want to replace the factory speakers and head unit and install a couple of subs in the barn doors.

I had this in my suburban. Sorry if this isn't exactly what you are looking for.

I wanted the sound to come through the speakers of the entire car at times and only through the headphones at others. I installed an RF Modulator that was between the TV sound output and the stereo input. I had the power on tis switched. This allowed me to turn this on and tune the radio to a channel and get sound through the speakers in the car when I wanted to. (the power switch was a nickel sized black rocker fron radio shack that I mounted on the dash - looked like it was supposed to be there). When the switch was off, the modulator was off and there was no interference from the TV into the Radio - allowing me to use the radio normally.

I think this is what you are after.

i have an x that was a conversion from factory. it has the tv in the overhead liner and you cant really tell its there. i can listen to radio or cd while kids use head sets for movie. or i can have movie sound in speakers as well by using toggle switch and going to a preset fm station. only problem is sound is very poor when running through speakers. sounds perfect with no distortion in headphones. anyone have an idea on how to improve sound in speakers from movie???

Trauski,
Change the modulator frequency although if it's from Ford you're probably going to have to change the modulator to accomplish that. You probably have traffic very close to or on the frequency you're currently using.
