I went with a set of Michelin MTX D-rated. Couldn't be happier. Nice and quite.

I just put a set of Cooper 285/75s on the X and I find the ride to be a bit better. I was surprised by how much larger they look than the stock tires. They really make the vehicle look nice, as they fill in the wheel wells better. The ride is SO much smoother. Of course, the old tires were cupped pretty bad. . . Much quieter.

I also had the rotors turned; what a difference! No more shudder between 35-45 mph.

Purchased some electrical contact cleaner which seems to have taken care of my pesky "door ajar" problem as well.

All that's left is to replace the bulbs in the pasenger side running boards and have the dealer fix the power door locks (part of the contract).

It's amazing how comfortable the X is. We are having really strong winds tonight, and we could hardly notice; even at 80 mph.

I'm having a time getting used to all the lights inside, such as the ones on the steering wheel, doors and instrument panel. I'm used to my old Land Rover which only has a (dimly) lit speedo. I love this vehicle.

Cheers,

Gom !
Check your local parts locator junk yard or search on eBay for your mirror needs...
may have to buy a pair, but then you could offer your extra mirror for people with Passenger side damage !

I replaced my original SteelTex tires with the same size Dunlop Rover A/T's. I wanted better wet road traction, without increasing tire noise very much on the highway. I do about 50/50 highway and local, with a some horse trailering thrown in for good measure. And of course, we have lots of snow up here. The Dunlops have proved to meet all of my needs.

Thanks everyone for the information on tire selection. I plan to purchase new tires this weekend.
I will keep looking for a mirror both locally and on ebay.

Thanks,
gomobius
