Hey all!
Its good to see so many proud owners on this forum. It is reasssuring to know that some things never change.
I just wanted to let you all know there are some really informative sites I've found that you all would dig. Check them out, as they've also got some sweet decals and accesories if you're into that stuff. Take care, and happy driving!
Peter

Welcome to the site Jim...
Sorry you're not working and hope the economy picks up soon for you....
I also posted this on your suvhaters site...
I'm sorry you Hate us SUV owners -
Hate is such an irrational self-destructive emotion that I never use it.
Use your energies and talents in a more productive manner !
I train my labs with rewards for the correct behavior, not for punishment for the wrong behavior !
Posted on your site.....
Hi Jim...
there have been no replies because you only posted your message less than 30 mins ago @ lunch time...
Most people work and do not lurk on the boards all day.
I, for one, work out of my home and have the luxury of setting my own hours.
Let’s inspect your hatred ….
Is ther a rational reason for it? Or do you just hate because….
I hate very few things because I presume there is already enough of that going around!
But would find it entertaining to discuss your reasoning...
1 Is it your perception of the poor gas mileage ?
2 Is it the sheer size?
3 Is it the cost ?
4 Is it your jealousy?
Please do enlighten me, because although I've not completed the building of my American dream, I am always open to good suggestions that would lead me to it.
You mentioned the Civic comment you found in this other board…
Have you ever made a joke? If so, you would recognize a tongue in cheek comment...
Do you REALLY believe anyone other than a criminal would intentionally hit someone?
I certainly wouldn't, I like my cars clean, much less dented and scrapped !
My reasoning in getting this vehicle was two fold:
1) it was MY choice and I COULD get it as a second car
2) it would safely carry all my family and the needed gear.
3) It is an excellent traveling vehicle which we do a lot of…
4) It is partially tax deductible for business use
Presuming your perception is one of the ones I’ve listed:
1 – What do you drive and what mileage do YOU get .
My Excursion gets 17 mpg around town and about 20 on the road .
It can carry 7 adults and all our gear necessary for a week long trip.
It can tow 11k lbs comfortably although I only need to tow a smaller trailer.
2 – I DO like the size and the fact that if some idiot decides he needs to hit us,
then I am reasonably sure the love of my life, my wife, and family will be safe.
3 – The cost to me should NOT be an issue to you since I ‘perceive’ that the enormous
amount of taxes I pay are basically wasted by the politicians who are SO out of touch
with the people it is scary.
4 – Apologies for that one – just having a little fun !
Thank you,
And Like a very smart historical figure said, I disagree with you, but I will fight to the death to allow you to say what you so incorrectly believe !

Ditto! Very nicely said. I started to reply, but would've only started a flame.
A good run is always better than a bad stand ... and I can't stand socialistic and/or communistic viewpoints.

What I REALLY wanted to say was "not fit for human consumption"
But I guess my loathing for the "arrogant incompetents" I run into in my industry stopped me from doing it !

Is this our first troll? I have comunist customers like this idiot, they love the earth, they drive small Japanese cars with at least 200K miles, they are cheap (always looking for something for nothing. Their cars stench of b/o (never takes a bath). They are usually engineers that never had a father figure, they weir sandals and wrinkled shorts. They are unshaven, weir glasses and fart a lot in public. You can't win an argument with these guys. i would really like to get his wifes (or moose, he is from canada and probably french) opinion of him.

Funny thing is, my V10, 7,100 lb Excursion actually pollutes about 100 times less than my former 1971 Austin Mini with an 850 cc engine, one of the smallest vehicles around. Heck, it pollutes less than the VW EuroVan we traded it in for. Yes, it gets less than great mileage, but who really cares? It's my money, and I'll spend it how I wish. The tree huggers should be thanking us for using up their perceived "precious" fossil fuels, as this will one day force everyone to drive alternate fuel vehicles, right? Until then, I'll drive what I want: A safe, practical vehicle for my cargo (wife and three young boys) that pollutes less than any pre-1996 passenger car.
Cheers,
