Okay, I have 2 questions about tranny's...

1. When/how do you know/tell if a torque converter is going out???

2. Does Rear end Gear Ratio make a difference in which TC you should install??

explanations:
1. My Ex is coming up on 100k, and I want to know what to be looking for.

2. I have an '85 K5 Blazer(YES a CHEVY!) that had the tranny rebuilt about 1 year ago. At the time I was going to be pulling with it, so the tranny guy I used, put in a "Lock-Up" converter (what is that)...then I recently found out that I have 3.08 gears...should be good on the Freeway (driving not pulling)... but it always seems to be in Passing gear...just wondering if something could have been done wrong...

Sorry for so long, and not completely for the Ex...

My Torque blew at 58k and before it did it started to hunt alot, slip out of gear and have trouble starting on a hill. I complained to the dealership and they said the computer said everything was fine and 500 miles after that i got a $1000 dollar towing bill from out in the midle of the I5 insterstate. Does it shake on start? shimmy? slip out of gear on the freeway?
If it does then better talk to gearman.
