(2000 V-10 4x4 Limited)
1. What should be the diameter of the factory front swaybar on the above described X?
2. Are the bushings on the factory front swaybars polyurethane? When I took mine off to grease them, I noticed that these ARE poly. I ask, because after only a week of having greased them with Yamaha waterproof grease (dry weather, no rain), they're starting to squeak again. I can't drive it with this noise, because it's driving me crazy.......If this is a factory bar, and if the original bushings are rubber, I'm going to replace them with those
Thanks,

It's been to darn cold for me to go out and measure. SOmeone else asked the same question.
I think that is it either 27mm or 30mm. I am leaning towards a 30mm bar.
I also believe that the stock bushings are not poly. Are they black? Usually the aftermarket ones come in a different color other than black (at least the ones that I've seen.)
As I understand, Poly is known for it's "squeakiness". But it is more durable.

Well, I get 1 1/2" with a tape (sorry it,s all I got to use at this time) Poly is the way to go if you change them. Also FWIW-the black ones will squeak less. |

Black is the color of the ones I have, and they DEFINITELY squeak/creak! Someone posted once to grease them with 3M Silicone Paste.....does anyone feel this would be better than waterproof marine (redundant) grease?
Thanks for the replies so far

Right, the factory ones are black but rubber. I am not sure on the 3m SP? I have had good luck with anti-seize on poly bushings. |

Hi, The dia. of the front sway bar is 36mm on the 2000 and 2001 4x4 X. the part # from ENERGY SUSPENSION is 4.5180G. It is just the bushings,no horse shoe mount, no end links, they don`t make them. They are $19.95 at AutoZone. Hope this helps.
