It's been sitting in the garage for a month. I think it's a very fine piece of work. The filter element is 4 times the depth of the stock unit. It seals much better and will last at least twice as long. I also got a look at my battery,(they look so good with that plastic cover)it looks like sh-- with the cover off.(time for batterys. will get Optima). The job can be done by anyone within an hour.(extra hour for beer break). You will not notice seat of the pants performance: I didn't. The new unit is better, it will help as much as any intake system out there as far as performance (usually none) but it will filter dirt better than anything you guys have seen. The unit is pricey (heard Ford raised the price to about 250.00). Is it worth it? If you drive dirt roads like in hunting, prospecting, or just plain messing around, i say yes. As a hyway machine towing(unless you must have the best, and yes this is the best) no. It looks cool, says Powerstroke on it, lol.

hello
I just picked one up a the October Showdown here in Ca. Got it for $185.00 from a Ford dealer
who had got a good deal and passed it on to us. It was Future Ford in Clovis. I havent put it on my
wifes X yet. I might try it out on my Super duty. Seems like a well made set up.

I have now driven my X for 2 days with this air cleaner and do notice a difference. Quicker spool up on the turbo, and better mid range. I will have it on the hyway sunday and see how it feels.

Last update on this intake. I loved it on the hyway this morning, it pulls better than it ever has. I recomend this unit.

For those of you people that are wondering what i am trying to acomplish, this is it. Diesel motors need to be able to pick up speed without downshifting into the next lower gear( thats bad because we have limited RPM range to work with and can pull ourselves out of the power range by downshifting at the wrong time) The exhaust and down pipe will be my last engine performance mod. I think these mods will make my X a great tow machine, too bad i dont tow.
