New to me 86k miles with Ford Super Duty air cleaner Mod! S/S lund bug shield!! Love it!
Want List: TTS chip mod with tranny and converter to match.
Question: Should I do both at the same time to avoida a huge tranny explosion expense or could I get the chip and wait?? Sounds risky and I want to get the most out of what I have for now. Would like the gearman cloning on the chip and tranny eventually. Please advise on the costs for the combo and individually and any suggestions..
Second: Lift kit. After all I like a big truck but nothing to crazy just 35"of tire, and a good truck like ride.Suggestions/comments?
Fab tech 5-6" seems to be what most are directing me to. I also like to powder coat to match most my stuff for that clean look. This will be my second lifted Truck, past being a 92 Eddie bauer bronco, with 36"tires wheels and front /rear ARB lockers 10k warn winch with enforcer bumper plus laundry list of replacement mods on bearings ujoints etc..so I am aware of the basic problems with lifts.
Questions: Odometer/guages/wheel bearings/ diff mods if known?/ What am I looking at here? Besides a potential big bill for my X!
Can anyone tell that this is my wifes daily driver....really!
Lastly:FYI
Never buy 16.5 inch rims for anything you own.. Manufactures are not going to make any longer and the beads are worthless for four wheeling or airing down.. I have a ton of inside info on tires! Trust me..My business Industrial Supply/ manufacture....Lots of stainless and TItanium bolts going on this X! I will put a kit together once I get a list and offer them the common X man! Do not try to order yet as this will take a little research...Anyone with a list already please send to me and I will work on it for you. I will be using mostly socket heads for this kit.[img] |

Welcome to the board Please give me a name easier than the one you post with and i thought transmissions were difficult. Answering your questions; the transmission should be done first(mainly torque converter which is the weakest link) Problem is ; that aint no fun.because it will take an additional 30 to 50 horsepower to activate a good converter. So, what i am trying to say is, do the trans first(you dont have to) and performance will get a little slugish, then do the chip, which will nock your socks off and the converter upgrade just enhances the whole thing. You can do the chip first(and you will love it, but you must take it easy because the increased power will blow right throught your torque converter. I will be happy to answer any question you have. You can email me at, lovrich7@aol.com. or call me at 310 674 4400.
