I friend of mine has a SD with the 7.3PSD with a 6 speed. He wants to lower his RPM's a bit. He knows he can either change gears, tires or tranny/tranny ratio. The question he has is how easy/hard/expensive would it be to change ratios on his tranny?

Gearman, I know you're the auto expert but do you have any info on the sticks?

Also, I tried to stop him but he just bought a Superchip with the programmer/diagnostic handheld attachment. He likes it so I guess that's good. Just wish he woulda listened to me and consulted with Gearman first. Oh well.

It will be cheaper and more advantagious to change rear end ratio, probably cheaper. You will still have the same end gear no matter what gears you change in the trans.
