| Quote: | | Quote: | | Are you guys sure you dont have a torque converter shudder? Quick test is: bring truck up to the vibration point and hold speed (make sure you are hold it at the vibration) with left foot (do not move right foot of gas pedal) lightly touch brake pedal, this releases converter clutch. if vibe goes away, then you have bad converter. hope this helps |
gotta try that^^^
If your vibration is still present while your in nuetral I would guess driveshaft maybe. Its still turning if the truck is still rollin.
Ford is going to have to put that sucker up on a lift and find the vibration.
Your rig may be riding rough until the new leafs break in a bit. this truck is not lifted or anything right? Its just stock? Id wait a bit until they settle in, it should be a smooth ride in back.
If someone drives behind you can they see a wheel wigglin like someone curbed a rim? Could be a bent rim, driveshaft that is out of balance..
good luck, keep us posted. |
THNAK YOU FOR THE ADVISE- JUST HAD A NEW DRIVE SHAFT PUT IN AND BALANCED AS WELL, WILL TAKE YOUR COMMENT ON THE NEW LEAF SPRINGS TO REASON ON THE HARD RIDE BUT THE VIBRATION AND HARD RIDE UP FRONT I DON'T KNOW.

| Quote: | I've got the same problem with my '00 4x2 Ex...
I haven't changed everything that Ronald has, but I am running Edlebrock shocks, Hellwig rear sway bar, and rear Air Bags.
I'm really wondering if this problem is addressed by LANDYOT's Radius Bars...
Just a thought,
Randy R... |
can you tell me more about the rear air bags and the sawy bar and where to get more information on these items?
thank you

I had an Air Lift rear suspension kit installed (www.airliftcompany.com) along with their on-board compressor and dual gauge package. It works really well for towing, as it easily and effortlessly levels my Ex when towing. It does, however, add a tad bit of bounciness to the ride when my Ex is completely unloaded and empty - but it was kinda bouncy before the Air Lift kit, too...
The Rear Anti-Sway bar that installed is the same Hellwig that everyone else has installed - easy-peasy installation, and per my wife, the best upgrade for the money!
Hope this helps...

Yep, even witth what is undoubtably the WORST instructions on the planet and mismatched bolts, etc.. the hellwig is a great upgrade !!! especially if you go to a 4x4 shop and give them less than 45 bucks to do it !

Gearman never said to put the Ex in neutral but to lightly touch the brake with your left foot this releases converter clutch.... Better go try the test again! Keep us updated on the issue! |
