Bought a 2000 X and the heated seats dont work. Both seats are bad. Checked the fuse and its good. Anyone else had this probem or does anyone know anything about it? Would like to fix it myself if possible so I don't get gouged by the dealer.

Thanks for the help.

I've used my heated seat exactly twice since I got my X used one year ago. It always feels like I've wet my pants. I hate it. Of course, it doesn't get very cold here. My wife will likely burn out the passenger seat. She uses hers whenever the temperature drops below 50*!!!

Sorry I can't be of more actual help. Good luck.

it should just be a pad that needs to be replaced. Not sure of the cost, but is fairly easy to get to as long as you take of the leather seat cover with great care as to not rip any velcro or foam off in the removal process. You then remove the heated pad and replace with a new one from ford. The electric element breaks down in time with all the bending and flexing from sitting on it. My passenger one works great at 135k, but my drivers heat hasnt work since I bought it used.
