Hopefully some one here can help me to avoid dealer bill. I bought my 2000 X V-10 a month and a half ago, and on ride home I noticed a shudder that i thought was the tranny when it went into OD. The day after I got it home I took it out for a drive and nothing and nothing until today. I took the X to the car wash to spray off the mud. I popped the hood and sprayed the inner fenders and the firewall, avoiding direct spray on the engine. I took the family for a ride after that and found it idles rough light it might not be firing all cylinders, and the shudder is back, but now in 3rd and OD when RPM's are around 2000-2500. I am thinking, and hoping, that maybe some electronics may have gotten wet. Possible the dealer washed under the hood before I picked it up. Any ideas would be very helpful. This is my first Ford, as I am a converted Chevy ownwer, and not to familiar with Fords yet. I do know I love my X. Thanks. :D

I had a similair problem with mine. It turned out to the clips that hold the fuel injectors were broken. This caused the x to sudder real hard at low RPM's, until enough fuel gets to the motor. One clue would be really bad milage. I get 13 city 15 highway and my milage dropped to 8-9 all the time.

when ever i go to car wash and i never get the underbody wash my x runs like crap for about 20 minutes. feels like it has a miss and is sluggish. i checked the air filter and it is always dry. dealer said if coil packs get wet will run bad until they dry out.
