I'm actively searching for an Excursion again. This time in 2WD.
Worst part about it all it that I already know the "list" of things that I have to do to it. Are you 2WDers out there suffering from brake problems or is it mainly focused towards 4x4s?
Anybody got a red XLT (or limited, I guess) V10 for sale? 2WD of course...

51,000 miles on our red, Limited, V10 2WD. No rotor problems yet, but it is time to replace the pads. Sorry, not for sale. Only problem in 3 years has been... you guessed it... door lock actuators. Installing a Hellwig this weekend. Hope that tames the beast a bit. |

I have a 2wd 2000 x 43,000 miles and it has the same rotor problem. Installing new rotors and pads shortly to get rid of pulsing. |

We've got about 42k on our '00 4x2 Ex, and the only problem with brakes is that they grind a bit when they get wet. Currently the pads are 40% worn, and the rear pads are 25% worn.
After New Year's we may upgrade the pads, turn the rotors and replace the brake fluid, but that would only be an attempt to improve braking performance. |
