I'm sure some of you have discussed this before my joining the forum, but here's the issue:
On V-10's, the Y-pipe looks to be VERY restrictive to me. I mean, even if the pipe was mandrel-bent, the severe curve in the passenger-side downpipe (right before the junction with the other pipe) would seem to create a good deal of restriction......Now, it appears that this was probably done due to space concerns; on the other hand, I guarantee I could make a much smoother exhaust system using the space at hand!!!
Does anyone know of a reason that this exhaust system could not be modified/recreated to make for a smoother flowing system? Maybe even a true-dual system with a crossover pipe? I also wonder if this might cure the problem that many of us experience with exhaust vibration.......
These are just musings of mine, so if anyone has any thoughts, please let me know (I also have an e-mailable photo of exhaust manifolds/y-pipe)
Thanks,

Many have removed the y pipe and had less restrictive ones bent. If you purchase headers such as Borla... They include a new y pipe.

Still setting at the 4x4 shop. I'd talk about why... but it would be a novel and just get my blood pressure up. At this point I'd be happy to get it back by the end of the month!
