I've discovered that 15w40 is too thick for the present temp range..(below -13C) hard to get it started (some days not at all). I Thought it was the batterys acting up. Anyways, I've got 10w30 in it now and I'm waiting to see how it works.

i had the same problem with oil pressure with my surburban a few weeks ago. it wold go to 5 psi at idle when warmed up. put on sending unit and got a 10 more psi at cold start up and normal drive speed, but still same problem. so i jacked up the motor and put a new oil pump in it.still same problem the beaarings had a little play but a mechanic friend so it was no more than any car would have so he thought the were ok.the low pressure was verified by an external oil gauge. so i sold the thing and bought a 2000 X the same day.

Have same oil issue of no oil on gauge. Only on cold weather starts(10 degrees or less). About 5 mins to clear. no lifter noise etc. even on rev-up no psi. seems more like gauge does not see.Fine in warmer weather.
