well you might remember that i was the guy asking about lowering my 4x4 just a little to fill up those wheel wells a little. just put on some 285's and they look good up front but still a little too much space in the rear for my liking. so if i were to remove the spacer it would level out the truck, give me the extra 1-2 inch drop i'm looking for, later might bag it back there but for now since i don't tow anything it should be alright. |

If you install air-bag spring-assist, AND your X is an early-2000 model (passenger side caliper behind the axle & driver side caliper ahead of the axle), I don't have anything that will fit. If both calipers are behind the axle AND the air-bag system does not protrude outboard of the leaf springs, then my Gen-I kit will still fit. The Gen-II kit, required for early-2000 models, will not work with air-bags. |

MONGO - Got it, and sent a reply. I'm beat. Spent 10 hours today doing nothing but cutting steel. I'm taking Sunday off to go skiing at Wintergreen, VA. |

This is a notice to all who've e-mailed me about my radius-rods. I will be sending out a mass e-mail very soon (hopefully on 01/12/04) to everyone who's written me thus far (your e-mail addresses will NOT be divulged to all ... will send via blind-copy). In that mass-mailing will be a copy of the installation instructions (for both Gen-I & Geb-II kits), along with associated images. In there, you will see the amount of work required to install the radius-rods. I will also ask those that are serious about buying to complete a questionnaire attached to that mailing, and forward it to me with a deposit ($$$-amount will be specified in the mailing). I'll need that info in order to keep everyone's requests straight.
The reason behind this forthcoming e-mail is that I have received more inquiries than I have kits under construction (10 kits being buiilt at this time). Hopefully, with the information I'll provide, folks can make a final decision on whether or not to move forward (and yes, I am aware that many of you will move forward regardless). Then, the fence-sitters will back down, and I can say with some certainty who gets one of these 10 kits, and who may have to wait until the next batch.
Last of all, I highly recommend that all of you help support this website by becoming dues-paying members. Superford.org has been a wealth of information for most all of us, and I cannot think of a better way to help keep this up than to put our $$$ where our mouths are. (Or should that be put our $$$ where our fingers type?) For the value of the info we've all received, the dues are a mere pittance.

Can't let this one die folks. Everyday I spend driving with Landyot's radius rods on my truck, the more satisfaction and appreciation I realize from this product. These things are hot - have to have items - that will improve the ride and control of your vehicle. I just can't put the rest into words.
I left some kind of little sports coupe in the dust yesterday on an interstate on ramp. The guy was running up my butt, so I kicked the V10 and left him behind trying to hold a line while my Excursion tracked true up to 65MPH on the ramp and I accelerated to over 90MPH coming onto the main lanes. Yeah he caught up and passed me, but I just smiled and waved knowing that I'd just dusted a unsuspecting BMW 325 owner. Line up and get yourself a set. It's scary how fast an Excursion can go with with V10, Bilsteins, Hellwig rear bar, and the radius rods. Now if someone could just come up with brakes. Sorry PSD folks. The V10 will run off and leave you with 4.30 gears and none of you have those as a stock item.
2000 XLT Premium, V10, 4.3 LSD Rear, Edge 4.5" Hanger Lift, Landyot Radius Rods, Hellwig Sway Bar, Dual Bilsteins, 295 75 16 Nitto AT's, Billet Grill, Lengthened and Balanced Driveshaft, Hella 450's, Insulated AC Lines, Modified ZooDad, Husky Liners F to B.

Thanks, Spartan! I certainly don't have to worry about marketing these things as long as you don't total that X, and you continue posting comments here @ SuperFord. (lol)
Your earlier comments about the radius-rods helping with the X's wandering ailment were well received, too. I still tend to think the wandering comes from rear axle induced steering. Drive over an imperfection in the road surface that affects one side of the X, and the rear leaf springs allow that side of the axle to "wrap" a little ... allows the rear axle to become a little out of perpendicularity with the vehicle's centerline. The resulting skewed rear axle then "steers" the X from travelling straight. Yeah, I also felt a noticeable improvement regarding wandering after I installed my original prototype set last summer. |
