I recently completed a winter project on a 2001 limited rebuild with 13k miles. In the process, I now find out that I purchased superduty springs for the front ones I replaced, instead of the softer ride factory excursion one. Now my rear is slighty lower than the front, is there any bolt on aftermarket item to stiffen/raise the rear (softer) ex springs to bring them up level with the sd spring or do I need to replace the rears with sd spring? thanks |

The cheapest solution to raising the rear would be to insert some spacer blocks (or replace the existing blocks with taller ones), and use longer U-bolts. However, since you've installed SD springs up front, you may not be too happy with the ride now ... stiff up front & soft in the rear (DO NOT TAKE THOSE LAST FEW WORDS OUT OF TEXT ... sorry). Before attempting to level your X, drive it a little while and see if the difference in spring rates causes you some driving discomfort. Then you can decide which route to take ... and how $$$ to spend. |

I can give you something I have done to keep the rear of my 03EX level when pulling my 9500# Travel Trailer. I have installed Timbren "Rubber" springs. These big donuts replace the soft bumpers above the rear axle. Available from BSAOHIO.com for $150 +/-. They work great and don't affect the ride under normal loads.
