where does the 8% to 10% fuel mileage gain of the 6.0l breakdown from?
My feeling it is mostly from the smaller displacement between the two. Losing 1.3 liters of displacement has to be the main reason.
Even though there is a horsepower gain of 75 over the 2002 7.3l diesel.
also my 2002 7.3l from what i can remember stated 550lbs of torque now the 2003 7.3 liter states 525lbs.
the 6.0 liter was 550lbs in the begining and now states 560lbs brings to memory of when ford had a problem with the mustang svt had problems meeting that 320 horsepower rating and then having to correct it. Is ford the only one making these marketing errors? I know they rate their towloads conservatively. Everyone thinking their F-350 can haul anything and everything when there are F-450 and F-550 rated to do these jobs. My philosify is use the right tool for the job. And not overtax and F-350 and come back to the dealer with problems.
