Now that I have purchased a Ford Gold Alarm, I am not quite sure if I made the right choice. No one at the dealer had heard of the gold alarm until I brought it up, so answering my concerns is not possible.

Anyways, does this alarm wait for the glow plug light to go off before it starts the X, or is it on a timer. Also, does this alarm work with the keyless entry on the door? Any infor would be appreciated.

As far as waiting on the glow plug circuit or a timer... it really didn't matter to me because when I start it remotely, it doesn't matter HOW it deermines when it starts to me, just that it waits a bit and starts....
My 6.0L will start usually without waiting on the glow plugs...
(the wife unit just doesn't deal with waiting too well and she just cranks it over!)
When I wait for the glow plug light to go out, it's usually only like two seconds anyway if THAT long!

And they had either a new overlay for my existing key fobs, or new key fobs that included the remote start with the ford gold.... (I'm not sure because I had it installed as part of the package....)

I have the Gold Alarm on my '04 6.0L. It waits 15 to 20 seconds before firing, which is more than enough time for the glow plugs. I used the remote start earlier this week in 15 degree weather and it worked flawlessly.

I have also noticed that the light goes off fairly quickly, but I am in SC. I was just worried about going to New England or more north with the truck.

Also, any info on the keypad on the door. Does this work with the alarm. I really just want the remote start, but I do want to know if the alarm will disarm when you use the keypad. If it doesn't, I will look for another way to get the remote start.

Thanks
