I was getting a new air filter today and the parts store had a prominent display of Sylvania Silver Star headlight bulbs. They were selling for $19.99 a bulb. Are these worth $40?

Yes! I put them in my 'Ex and my Mustang.

Someone on the Ford Truck's forum suggested that even better results can be had from installing a wiring harness from www.suvlights.com Looks interesting and easy to do. I'm just concerned about the wiring harness causing the generation of more heat in the "plastic" headlight assembly.

Good luck,

I've seen the harness thing, but I'm not willing to invest another $60+ just yet. I don't do a lot of night driving, but would like to see better. Will likely just get the bulbs for now.

Yes, there worth it. I`m the one that told you about the SUV harness. If you can`t swing the $60 make the harness yourself for half that, it`s easy.
I run APC`s headlights with SilverStars, A SUV harness and a BriteBox ( dims stay on with the brights) and have never had a problem with heat in the housing or harness.

Save yourself the money buy PIAA'a. If you want the SilverStars I'll make you a great deal, I had the 9007's in for three nights. They're much whiter but no more output. Don't get me wrong. the PIAA's won't blow your socks off but they are a little brighter.

Where did you get the BriteBox? The search engine is down right now and I couldn't find them on the suvlight webpage above.

TIA.
