Could anyone with a 2000 Excursion please take a look at the rear end and see where the brake calipers are mounted. My 2000 Excursion has the brake calipers mounted rear of the axle on the passenger side and in front of the axle on the drivers side. Clarification of this installation is imperative to determine the application of aftermarket modifications. All help and information appreciated in advance. This is very important. Thank you.

Mine is the same...one front and one back. I think later models changed this but 2000's should all be the same.

I have a 2000 XLT 4X4 manf. in 10-99. The rear caliper on the drivers side is FWD of the axle with the shield and the passenger side is BEHIND the axle, no shield.
Hope this helps. This may be an overlooked difference between model years, not mentioned here before. At least I don't remember any posts on this before. Odd but curious
This is the same reply from FTE.

Has this been talked about before?

OK - so we got this thing narrowed down to between December 1999 and March 2000. Let's peg it so we can all look at aftermarket stuff with this in mind. Thanks.
