My wife and I just got back from a jaunt through west Texas and Southern New Mexico. I don't know how many of you have travelled the back roads in SE NM, but some of them can be pretty darn rough, almost to the point of washboard-like. Anyway, we travelled many miles on them.
Yesterday, we went to do a little Christmas shopping and when I was coming off an overpass, the exhaust got really loud (actually sounds kinda cool! ). I pulled in to the p-lot and looked underneath and, sure enough, the pipe-link between the cat and the muffler had cracked and completely severed.
I guess my question is, do I take it to the Ford dealer and pay my $100 deductable or is that something a muffler shop should be able to handle less-inexpensively?

Nevermind... I went ahead and went to the muffler shop. They welded a sleeve on it for about $40.
