Hello from northern MN,
I've been reeding posts on this site for a couple months now. With the purchase of a 2000 X
limited V10 in july and some problems/concerns that led me here,I've solved or corrected some
of my problems with the information in this forum.(brakes, rotors, electric door locks, shocks, and
rear drive line) Thank You
However, I still have one more problem that I need help with. My problem is a vibration that
seems to be from the rear of the vehicle while driving at and above 62/63 MPH. This vibration
is present when on or off the gas and in neutral coasting. The whole rear driveline has been replaced
with Fords updated model. The firestone tires that were on the truck when I bought it were suspect,
so I replaced them with mastercraft tires.Thinking I still could have a tire problem I upgraded the
tires to a better model of mastercraft tire and still a vibration. I rotated the rear wheels to the
front and fronts to the back, and still a vibration. With running three sets of tires and rotating
the rims I am over the bad tire theory! I can not feel any bearing slop but my method of testing,
I know is lacking(the wiggle test). I would much appreciate any help! Thanks! |

sounds like a drive shaft or motor/tranny mount problem of some sort. Bout the only things left to check. You may want to check the shocks too for giggles. Make sure both have equal resistance.
