I know this question has probably already been answered numerous times, but the search engine for the site is down.

I am currently installing a 6 inch Fabtech lift and 315/75 16's on my 2000 X. Does anyone know how or what is needed to recalibrate the speedometer for the new tires. I have contacted both Superchips and Hypertech and neither power tuner will recalibrate the speedometer on a V-10 model?

Me too, in a 7.3. Someone said to get superlifts truspeed device, but its 180.00 plus tax and shipping at jc whitney. Why cant the ECU be reprogrammed the old way of grounding the test wire and using the odometer button to adjust the calibration?

Tru-Speed is the only real way that I know of.

The dealer can recalibrate it based on tire size (revolutions per Mile) but I do not know the choices by heart. There are indeed more than just the stock tire size. Maybe your local dealer can help?

I've got my 6' lift and new wheels and 35' tires, but before I install them I was trying
to get equipment to recalibrate speedo. I just tried buying Truspeed from a 4x4
shop ang got this e-mail back:

Thanks for the order. We have just been informed that the Excursion
application for the TruSpeed was a misprint in the Superlift application
guide and it will not work. As a result I will void you order. Please
let me know if I can help in any other way.

Does anyone here use one or know if this information correct? If they do not know
what they are talking about I will take my business somewhere else, but I don't want
to waste my money on something that will not work. HELP!!!!!

Just have the dealer do it. Mine quoted me $44, but I didn't do it because I only have 285s and the spedo is right on. F(orget) the true speed.

I liked the idea of the truspeed so I can switch back to stock wheels and tires during winter months, but I will check with dealer. Thanks

I have a truspeed that is functioning perfectly on my 2001 PSD 4x4 Excursion...? Superlift also lists it in their catalog for all 2wd and 4wd Excursions. I don't think your 4x4 shop is correct on this one.
