Shifting problem just started with my 00 "X", 7.3 PSD, 4X4. Once the engine is warm (sometimes when first started), it is shifting hard from 2nd to 3rd gear. This is only happening when I am on it a little and the RPM's are around 2500 before the shift. Once the RPM's are above 2500, it clanks into gear and drops to about 1700 RPM. The rest of the gears shift fine and normal, no problems. I have an appointment on Monday, 29 Dec to take it to the local Ford dealership for a cmputer scan. I am afraid that since there are not any "dummy" lights on the dash, the computer will not read anything. The truck is not chipped or has any performance stuff added. I have about 96K on it and take the family camping by towing a 31 ft. Jayco Eagle trailer. This problem just started and I didn't have anything behind me. Any similiar problems or possible solutions before I take it to the dealership. P.S. The transmission fluid was last changed at 64k and I have an appointment to get it done again next week.
