Does anyone else have the issue of their Ex's headlights appearing to not light up enough road. Either they are not bright enough or they seem to be aimed too low. I have to put on the high beams to see what I can generally see with my other truck. I was thinking of another type of light bulb. Any suggestions? I am also thinking of adjusting the headlights. Any preferred techniques? thanks

1] Change your stock bulbs to SilverStars or PIA`s ( PIA`s cost more).
2] If you have stock fog lights, put in 65w SilverStars ( #9005`s). Yes your stock harness can handle it.
3} Add a SUV harness ( www.SUVLIGHTS.com). This will increase you voltage to somewhere between 14.2 to14.4v. A noticeable increase in output. Your stock wiring is putting out about 12.2 to 12.4v. Easy plug and play. Or make your own harness. ( www.eurekaboy.com/f250/harness.htm ) . If you notice at the bottom of the schematic, you can add that Diode and your dims will stay on with your highs.
And have a Merry Christmass and a Happy Newyear

it is a 2001 and it does have fog lights. Do the silverstars really make that much of a difference? It almost seems as if the lights point down too far. Changing a bulb would be a lot easier than adjusting. Is this something you get from performance places online or are they stock at auto stores. Thanks and Merry Christmas.

AutoZone and Walmart has them for just under $20 apiece and yes they make a differance.

I picked some up for the headlights and fogs. You are right they are bright and do make a difference. The lamps still appear to be aimed low though. I may try to bring them up a little. Again, the lights are NICE. Thanks for the info.

Tom,
I also swapped my bulbs, but still didn't seem to have enough light for those dark wide openTexus spaces ( in DFW ???)
So I added a Westin bull bar and PIAA 520's on the front...

I have the opposite problem. My lights light up the road well enough but I constantly have other vehicles, including tractor trailers, flashing their high beams at me, even when my fog lights are off and my lights are on low. I am taking my Excursion into the dealership on Monday to have a multitude of things repaired, including having them check the alignment of my lights. Maybe it is something that simple.
