Does anyone have a good source for the rubber cover with the Ford logo for the trailer hitch? The dealer is supposed to have them but two of my local dealerships don't. Also, they now want $12 for the same part I paid $8 for less than a year ago. One said they would have to special order it for me. There is no way to lock it to the EX so anyone who wants one just has to pop it off.

Mike - I have a rubber one that I don't use since I have the cutsie lighted one my wife got me...

and the only way I know to get it to you is ship it...
May be cheaper just to spend the $12....

And as far as locking it... could you drill a hole thru the side for a locking hitch pin ?

It doesn't go far enough in the receiver to make use of the locking pin.

Yeah, right. I still need to get it out when I pull a trailer.
BTW Monsta, where on the Big Island are you? I have some friends who now live in Keaau.

I live in Kailua-Kona. The area or subdivision is called Kona Palisades Estates.

Keaau seems popular all of a sudden! Maybe I should look into moving there! Nah...too wet.

On edit: I have a simple black one from Wal-Mart in my Expy (and my old Excursion). You cannot lock it but it was a few dollars. If a guy (or kid) needs one that bad that he has to steal it, then I'll just write-off the replacement as a charitable contribution on my taxes...

Back in the 'old' days when I was driving a Ford Van with the 460 gasser, I must have supplied all the kids for miles around with chrome valve stem caps. I kept having to replace them. The kids had to come up into my driveway to take them. I finally gave up and put on the black plastic type. No more losses.

Uh...sorry Mike but I was one of those kids back in the day! I had hundreds of chrome valve stems caps. 'Course I had nothing to put them on. If I put them on my bike, my "friends" would steal them!

I feel reeeeeaaaaaaal guitly about it now.
