Thinking of lifting my '04 6.0L Diesel Excursion. Don't want to look like a monster but add a "conservative lift" for larger tires in future. Anyone seen a 2/5" lift or how does the 4" lift look. I don't want to ride on "doughnuts" until I get the new tires.
Thanks, |

I have an 02 Excursion LTD 4x4 with a 4" lift that I got from the local tire shop chain (Les Schwab). It was a Rev tech lift. I put 35" tires on it and it looks good and rides excellent (IMHO). I think the proportions make it look like it should have from the factory. Otherwise the truck seems more of like a station wagon (even the 4wd model).
I'm actually pulling it all off and putting on a 9" lift with 38"s next week, cuz I just had to go higher. I'm going to be posting pics pretty soon of both lifts...should have them somewhere on the net soon.

This is how my eXcursion looked when it had just a fabtech 5.5" lift and 35's!
I agree with the post above. This the way they shoud have looked from the factory!

Most 35" tires are 12.50" wide. So stock rims are not a good idea. The ones in the picture are mounted on 16x10 CenterLine HellCats.

It's kinda brand dependant.
Seen 305s but 295s are a safe bet.

Is that w or w/o a lift? If with lift, what is the minimum height (kids and wife friendly)...
Thanx |

Actually 315's will fit the factory rims...I think it looks a bit like a tractor but they will fit. The offset is wrong pn the stockers and the tires will rub a bit when turning to full lock. My only rubbed going one direction ( turning Left...I think). Anyway they will work but will rub on the leaf springs on one side or the other on full lock our turining. Here is the link to see my 315's on the stock limited rims.
I do not have them on there now...in fact they were only on for a month like that. Check out the other pics with the new rims....Well new a year and a half ago....
