Does anybody know if all front bumpers are the same 99-current superduty or excursion? I have an 00 Ex , but would to install a painted front bumper instead of the chrome one I have. I found a later model one stamped in late 2002 - looks the same but someone told me the later model bumpers are different. Anybody know? |

Nah...they fit.
I put an 02 bumper on mine from an XL Super Duty and had it painted to match.

Save your self the expense & just sandblast the chrome off your current bumper, and paint it the color of your choice (I'm assuming you're going to paint it to match anyway). I've also found the painted bumpers usually aren't as smooth as the chrome ones. The factory does some extra smoothing, grinding, sanding, etc. in order for the chrome to come out good. I did this to my old '87 F350 crew-cab ... painted bumpers F & R with the black plastic trim. |
