I am looking at Hoen replacment bulbs. I used these in Germany and loved them. They are the closest bulbs you can get to Xeon HIDs. Does anyone know what type bulbs we have in the X. I think the headlamps are 9007 but I don't know about the Fog lamps. Thanks,

Yes, the headlamps are 9007, but I can't say what the fogs are because I don't have any.

I've read some posts that some of these after market super white bulbs and what not last around a year. Are they really worth it if you have to replace them every year? |

Has anyone added fogs to their X? I just bought a pair of used SD fogs to be installed on the X. I also plan to add the suvlights wiring harness for the headlights. I popped the hood and there doesn't seem to be much room for two sets of relays. Where did you mount yours?

Got a set off of Ebay and made made my own harness. Their easy to mount. Take the front bumper off, it`s just 6 bolts and have a buddy help you so you don`t drop it or scratch the truck. They mount on the back of the bumper. While your at it drop in a set of 9005 SilverStars. As for mounting the relays, I got 5 or 6 mounted on the pass. side behind the radiator support in front of the batt.

Guys, just a quick question regarding replacing the factory fogs bulbs with SilverStar 9005ST.
When I researched for a replacement bulb at http://www.sylvania.com/auto/silverstar.htm it suggests a 9145 45W bulb. This would run at 90W total or 7.5 amps at 12V. Using the 9005ST which is the same size bulb would ran at 130W or 10.8A at 12V.
My question is my 2003 X only has a 10A fuse for the fog lights. Now, I agree with MONGO, the factory harness should handle is but how are you guys getting around the fuse problem? Did you replace the fuse with a 12A or 15A? Maybe Ford reduced the current capabilites of the 2003 model year.
Sorry to pick on this point. It's the Engineer in me
Thanks
