OK, I fire up the truck to warm up before going out... Come back inside and 5 minutes later I no longer hear my truck!! Go out and she is sitting there I fire it back up and she is running like Idle is very rough and uneven, acts like it will cut off at any minute, giving it gas makes it worst.... Has been feezing here but never had this problem w/the '00 so I am lost!! Appreciate any input from the "family"....

Notes....

15,000 miles, fresh oil change, full tank of diesel and the truck has been driven all week including 32 miles earlier today...

Raymond,

Old bridgewater here. Was she plugged in? Did you fill her up and add an anti gel before this cold?

Sounds like she is all gelled up.

Call and we can talk? Click on my name and you'll see my number.

Don,

Didn't add anti-gel on the fill up and truck was not plugged in, drove it earlier and knew I was going back out (didn't think a few hours would hurt it)... Does plugging it in stop the gelling? If so is it to late or should I plug it in now?

E-mail me your home number or I can e-mail mine....

Wifes email address.....

[email protected]

Just went out and looked for the plug, do not see it by the drivers side hook or fog light, am I looking in the wrong area?

OK, just started the truck and noticed something, this one does not start and idle up quickly like my previous two, it starts and idles like it is warm already! Just went back out there and she is in full song, warming and running like a CHAMP! What gives....??

Slow mail system, still don't have it.... Did you see the edits I did on my other post? Where can I get some anti gell from around here?? The truck is out there running perfectly idled up and warming, still think it needs to see the doctor but would like to be preventive also

Truck just shut off again, sounded very bad shutting off

Don,

Where did you have your truck towed to?? Roadside assistance is going to pick it up tomorrow as I had NO luck with the flatbed and Roadside will only tke it to a authorized Ford dealer....

Thanks agin for last nights conversation and insight, glad to finally speak with you and happy to have one of the family right up the road

Thanks again

ANy luck with the thaw? I stopped in Walmart amd picked up some anti gel (diesel kleen) on Sunday.

My Truck went to Licardi Ford in Watchung. Drove by to day and there must be 6-7 powerstrokes in the lot thawing out from this deep freeze.

People should know, any colder that 30 degrees should be using anti gel.

Picked up by Ford roadside yesterday and thawing out as we speak at Oasis Ford , lined up inside next to 6 others with the same problem, Excursions and Pickups...

Pep Boys had one bottle left on Sunday which I grabbed, will get more when I pick up the truck since deep freeze #2 is coming!

Should have it back tonight or tomorrow and I will avoid that HESS station 22, at least until it is warm outside

Thanks again for all of your insight Saturday night!

Raymond,

Get more from Walmart. They carry the 32oz and 96oz most of the time. Dump a whole bottle of the 32 oz making sure you are safe.

@ 32oz it actually helps on the Cetane rating as well, but I find I have worse fuel mileage when using the product when this cold.
