I got my loaner Excursion today for Hertz. (See Excursion vs. Honda thread)

It is an '03 V10 Limited 4x4 monochromatic black.

It has many bells and whistles that I thought I'd never really use/need/want. But doggonit! Now I do...crap...

You guys with '03s I sure am a bit jealous! I really like the auto air controls, the 2 position memory seats and the adjustable pedals for my wife. The reverse sensors are cool too.

It wallows a bit, only has about 6700 miles and still smells new. Now...what did I do with my local Ford dealer's phone number...

That's why I don't test drive new vehicles "just for the fun of it". I know I wouldn't be able to sleep at night because I'd be thinking about how I could buy the new one.

If you get rid of your old one, can I have the SD grill?

That is how I purchased my 2004 Ford Excursion. I have a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche and I felt like something different. I test drove a Ford Expedition with the navigation system, which I thought was very cool. The power steering was far too tight though. It felt like I was fighting it. They didn't seem to help me much when I asked about the Excursion. I got the general feeling Ford might have had an internal promotion to sell Expeditions. Anyway, I went to another dealership and took a 2002 and a 2003 for a test drive and was immediately in love. The rest is history. Now I need to sell my Avalanche before I'm in the poor house.

new toys are hard to resist. I find that tweaking my trucks when I get the new toy itch is cheaper in the long run and you can end up with a nice truck. I put in a kenwood head unit with the sirus satelite radio a couple weeks ago. very nice
