When I fold my right-side middle seat flat, It won't come back up.
I getting a little frustrated, mine has broken for the 4th time. 3 repairs of the original and one complete replacement of the seat track.
I only used this twice since they replaced the whole seat track.
This time in they were going to charge me for "adjusting the latch" WHAT? some internal spring had popped off, some bolts were loose! the service writer told me. I don't understand why a total failure of a latch is not covered under my PreimumCare warranty?
I protested the labor charge, and they are going to waive the $90 charge "This time".
I hope I'm not back again.
Ken D.
I even found my last post about one of the previous repairs to the seat.

I fold down my 40 side of the 60/40 middle seat at least twice a week and have had no problems. Sorry to hear about your woes. I fold mine flat to let two 5 year olds get into the back seat easier. It works great. Good luck.

You may want to try an adjustment after they fix it. What you do is loosen the mounting bolts for the tracks just enough so that the tracks could be moved with pressure. Then, run the seat back and forth on it to reseat them and tighten. Now the fold down feature should work a bit better. Worked for mine anyway.

I had the same problem with mine but I discovered that just alittle pressure from the front seats against the folded middle seat( I drive with seats all the way back)mine won`t release to go back up. When I move the front seats foward they work just fine.

The title-question of this post/string is "Has your middle got stuck down?" Now ... if I were a little inappropriate ... I would suggest that Viagra is one cure for such an ailment. Unfortunately, I understood what was being asked, and will offer up that my X has not suffered from this problem.
FMC produces ... what? ... about 2,000 of these per month? When one considers the number of problems encountered here, and at other Excursion-related forums, the number of bad apples is pretty darn low. Then again, a good many of the posts are gripes. But how many folks actually start a post that is nothing but praise for the Mighty-X? Most will start a post because they're having a problem. And I am thankful for all you folks who are knowledgeable with various solutions. I feel for the problems many of us endure ... and not just with the X ... but in the grand scheme of things, we be doin' good! Thank y'all!
And good luck to The_X_Family! |

OK Seat! I forgot one word!
What a crappy week. On Tuesday in meeting I called one our biggest clients "Baywatch" instead of "Bay Alarm". I will never hear the end of that. Now this. I better talk to my wife about taking the edge off! So I can get back to buisness.

I agree with Mongo, I've had the exact same problem. After tugging, pulling, hitting, examining, and trying to figure out why the *@(*#&$# seat wouldn't come back up, I figured out that if I push the front seat forward a bit, it will let the 2nd seat come back up.
I've also noticed that if you fold the 2nd seat down with things on the floor it can also get stuck. Just make sure that everything is free and clear.

Mongo and David S are correct on this . My X has the same issue, I discovered that the kids may have left a shoe or a toy on the floor. If I push down on the middle seat or forward on the front seat if it is all the way back before I pull the lever it will come up no problem. Don't feel bad, I pulled, cussed, threatened that damn seat and this is all it took!
