Don't know if you knew this...but I just found it
my wife's Lincoln LS has a speed sensitive volume adjustment on her's and so I thought I'd try it on the Ex....
Lo and behold it has it !!!
With the key and radio on,
push IN the volume control for 3 or 4 seconds until Speed Volume is displayed,
then use the Sel control to go up or down from 1 thru 5 settings to adjust the differential when going from idle to speed !
1 is just a slight increase in volume from idle, 5 is a pretty big increase in volume from idle...
Pretty neat feature, especially with the straight piped diesel that gets rather loud at speed !!!
On Edit - maybe it's just the Prem radio w/ 6 CD changer ???

Cool! It works! This feature is not in the manual either. Good thing the Ford sales guys don't know, they would of billed me $50 more.
Keep looking on that Lincoln LS maybe we have ejector seats too

Try page 28 of manual. Plus or minus a page.

Ed,
thanks for the pointer, and having looked for it b4, went looking again...
been out of school a bit, but still can read somewhat...
page 24 thru 29 in my circa Feb 2003 third printing of the Owners guide is about the rear DVD system (which I didn't want nor do I have..) so I had skipped those pages...
But still didn't find it this time
guess we have different versions of the manual,
just like some of the earrly build 6.0L's run fine and others don't -----
EUREKA, THAT'S IT !
MAYBE IT'S THE OWNERS MANUALS,

So... does this not apply to anything older than a '03? What stereo system is it referring to?

Well, nevermind. I answered my own question. I went out and tested the theory on my '01 and, SHO NUFF! I held in the volume button for 3 seconds and the speed option popped up.
THANKS!!

Ed,
thanks for the link! There are a few missing things from the version I have: For example:
- Volume Speed control Pg28
- Temperature conversion on the Climate controls (Fahrenheit to Celsius.)Pg62
Not that I'm a big manual geak or anything! |
