I have searched the forum and got all the info on the poor quality lock actuators. However, my liftgate locks were not working either way. The key lock was frozen and the actuators would not lock it. All of a sudden it locked it and now it will not unlock it. Can the trim panel be removed while in the closed position and if so, how do you pop it off? |

I don't know if you can remove while the lift-gate is closed. But if you get to open it, it's not difficult to remove the interior panel. Unscrew the pull handle, then simply pull the lower-most interior panel straight back from the lift-gate structure. It's held in place by clips. Just be careful not to lose any of those little metal clips. I had one fly off, and I spent a long time searching for it. You won't need to pull the side panels, nor the panel that spans the top edge of the rear window. |

Landyot - the best thing I got for Christmas is a magnetic parts tray that doesn't let anything get away once you toss it in - including wrenches and sockets. Best thing since sliced bread. I know the clips may fly off butt if you get your grubby little fingers - we're working on the truck here - on the part and it goes in the tray - it''s there for good. I don't know how I lived without one of these for 30 years.
