I traded in the X on a non-X! I'm sorry!!!! PLEASE FORGIVE ME!!!! We intend to buy another one...this time with a diesel and video package. We just weren't liking the amount we were paying and the mileage we were getting for the little amount that we drove her. Just wasn't good on the pocketbook and not good on the X.

We got an XL-7 so we could keep the thrid row seating at least.

Now I just can't wait til I get the other job (1 1/2 years from now) so that we can afford an X the way we want it!

No need to ask forgiveness. You simply have to make the best decisions you can with the information and resources available to you at the time.

Then again, you won't get a "thumbs-up" from us when we pass you on the highways. (hee-hee)

Good luck!

BTW ... What the heck is an "XL-7" ???

Suzuki. Small seven passenger suv.

Don't feel bad. I seriously considered trading in my X for a VW Jetta Wagon. If all three car seats had fit in the back seat I might have done it. The Jetta I was looking at was a five speed manual with the TDI engine. The highway mileage on the sticker was 50 mpg. It was pretty tempting. I'm glad it didn't work out for the most part. I really like driving the X. Plus I'm pretty much a big vehicle guy.

I hope the Suz works out for you. You'll always be welcome here.

We have an 03 X 6.0psd and also and 02 Jetta TDI auto trans. The Jetta gets 38mpg consistently. Its been a good vehicle. You probably made a good choice as the Jetta doesn't have much rear leg room. Wife is waiting on the new Pasaat 2.0 tdi which is due out soon. It has more rear leg room. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do...

Hey, Bradley, welcome to the site! I'm very interested in the Passat TDI. I'm not sure I'll like the price, though. I understand they are going to be pretty scarce. The biggest selling point for the Jetta, other than the TDI, is the price. The Passat is a little nicer and bigger to boot. I think a Passat Wagon would be a great car. From reading on www.tdiclub.com some guys are already ordering theirs. Wish I had the extra money.

Those XL-7s are cool little trucks! They can fit kids in the back and are easier to park and cheaper to drive. Good choice! The warranty is tops, too!

Odd, you went from the largerst 7+ passenger SUV to the smallest!

My M-I-L has one. I drove it many times and tried to break it. The only bad things that I came away with was the crappy tires, very poor interior lighting and the fact that you can never turn off the head lights. (but maybe that has changed)

I've looked at them as a replacement for my (work) mini-van.

I got clipped by one of those last year when I was pulling out into traffic. Just clipped the corner of my rear bumper and tore it off. The zuki was undriveable. Big damage to the front end and left fender. Fortunately no one was hurt. I should have been more cautious pulling out and the zuki was speeding big time.

It's not too bad....and the comments about it's downfalls are still accurate. Luckily the tires are new replacements...I refused the one's that were on it from the dealer.

My biggest complaint is the shoulder room. I'm not a small person and my shoulder constantly hits the side of the truck. I end up having to either lean a little to the side or roll my shoulder slightly forward. This is the only way to be "comfortable". It is small so I guess that shouldn't be a complaint since I knew what I was getting into before we bought it. I definitely like the distance between the wife and me though....no more extreme arm stretches just to hold her hand!

Now I'm just trying to find local buyers for some of the equipment we took off of the X before we traded it. (dealer said he wouldn't up his trade-in price even though we had lots of aftermarket stuff on it...so we took it off! ) There's a chapter of Ford Truck World here but no one seems to want anything. Oh well....just have to wait awhile.
