To start I've read all most every post on this forum on this subject about lifts, now I need to know LIFT IT OR NOT. I have a 2000 X psd, I am running 285-75-16's now and like the way it looks, but hey I want more. I don't really want to lose ride(not that it's that great) but rather improve it. The question is how much will I screw my baby up by doing a lift? Some of you say do a 4.5" Edge and bilsten shocks and that's it. Still others say do that and you must lengthen the drive shaft and do this and that. And then we have the "if your going to lift it the sky's the limit." Well I love the latter but lets face it, like most of us, must get the ok from the boss(the wife). So on that note I don't want to go over a 6" lift. I've been looking at a leveling kit which is about 2.5"-3" , the Edge kit at 4.5" or a full blown BDS 6" kit. I know that tire size will play a part in this so lets say on the leveling kit 33's and the other 2 at 35's all to be A/T's. Which of these three kits will ride the best and improve the ride, and why? At the same time which one will be less damaging to my susp. i.e vibration on drive line, axel wrap, u-joints the list cam go on. I hope everyboby can help me with this and any other suggestions would be great. Thanks |
