Has anyone tried flipping the rear spring hanger?

I saw on a website where it said you can flip the rear hanger on the rear leaf spring for an approximate 2" lift. Will this work? It looks possible I think. Looks like it would move the rear point where the spring attaches to the shackle about 4 " lower, thus a 2" lift total since the axle sits in the middle.
