Hello all
I just bought a 00 X w/PSD (limited) . The truck has low miles 45,xxx and is in excellent condition.( cherry condition ).
It has a 4 inch lift , 33x12.50 16.5 BFG's , airraid breather the 3" exhaust with a 4" turn down.
It also has the ATS chip 70hp / 100hp settings. My question is will it harm the engine to run it in the enhanced settings or should it be in the stock setting most of the time ? The truck feels like slug driving it in the stock setting but FLAT OUT runs in the 100hp setting.
I have always wanted the KING of SUV'S but im not too familar with diesels. I do tow a 25' cruiser but the truck is my daily driver. It just looks too good to sit at home.
Any help would be much appreicated.

It won't hurt the engine to run it in the 100hp mode. Lower fuel economy and you do need a pyrometer to keep an eye on the exhaust gas temperatures (EGT's) if to hot they will burn out you turbo. Check to see if your muffler is still on. If it is remove it and use a by pass pipe. Mufflers are not needed as the turbo acts like a muffler and quiets the noise. It will be noisier but allows the PSD to breathe easier with lower EGT’s with less back pressure.
