Hello Everyone!

I am going to be ordering a 2004 6.0 Powerstoke Excursion with the Eddie Bauer package.
I am coming from a 1998 Hummer H1.

I am getting this to tow my 9k 28 foot boat. And the Excurison seems like a perfect choice.

Can you tell me what to look out for?

Are there any major problems with this vehicle?

What questions to ask the dealer?

What options I should get?

Any tranny problems with the 04's?

Anything else you can think of?

It would be greatly appreaciated! Glad to be part of this awesome club!

Best regards,

Brandon

Welcome Brandon....

R u getting the 4x2 or 4x4 ?

I have an 03 4x4 and LOVE it !

a few things to consider - the Ex seems to be set up for the soccer moms and some don't come with a rear sway bar and all have soft shocks...

Here's a list of things I did:
I like to SEE, so I added the bull bar and lights u can see in my gallery...
remove the roof rack cross members if you don't want scratches in the paint...
consider a < $140 Hellwig rear sway bar if yours doesn't have one - really helps the ride !
after break in consider the new Diablo Predator and a full flow exhaust - does for the engine/performance what the sway bar does for the ride !

Enjoy the new truck - it WILL be the best travelling vehicle you've ever had

4x4. I live in the snow so, I need it.

I was thinking about putting air bags on it. Do they even make it for the excursion?

Also, I was planning on putting the banks kit on it. Has anyone done this?

Thanks again!

Brandon!

I had a '94 H1 4DHT which I sold in '99.... just out of curiosity, why did you get rid of the H1 (if you did)?

WHile the banks kit is probably a fine kit...
I don't have any experience with it except to know that it is EXPENSIVE

Many have basically built their own mod list...
Predator programmer,
turbo-back exhaust,
BD X-monitor gauge,
sway bars,
AFE Progaurd intakes...

there's MANY choices out there !!!

I don't have the diesel but I have heard good things about the Banks packages. You can make HUGE torque and decent RWHP for a fraction of what I've spent on my gasser.

You can get bags for the excursion. The suspension is essentially the same as the F250.
