I'd gotten in the habit of doing a 5 tire rotation with my Durango and would like to continue that with the X since I had good results in the past.

Now that I've gotten my Steeltexs replaced by Revos under the recall -- I was wondering if anyone has the spare mounted on the same kind of wheel as the other 4 tires? Specifically I'm asking about original equipment here. The Firestone dealer didn't have any idea if the regular 'road' wheel would even mount in the spare tire location.

All the available rims for the Excursion will fit in the spare tire "carrier".

It uses a threaded "hook" and a cap that centers on the wheel opening. All the wheel openings are the same size.

Monsta -- Thanks!! You'd think the "pros" at the Firestone dealer would have known that. Now that the issue is settled, what would you suggest is the best way to go about getting one more rim to put the spare on? How many different rims have been 'standard' on the X?

And completely off the subject -- WHEN are you going to get 'another' V10? Is there enough room to turn one around over there in Hawaii??

I'd try e-bay.

I can think of 5 different wheels that are on Excursions. Again, try e-bay.

-------------

The Big Island of Hawaii has the same land mass as the state of Conneticut. It takes me an hour and a half to get to the other side. (Hilo...I live in Kailua-Kona) We've got room alright!! The Big Island is like the "Texas of the Pacific".

I am looking for a 2WD, all black Limited Excursion but 2WDs are hard to find and it costs about $1200.00 to ship one from the West Coast. And I find it hard to buy a truck over the internet... Guy down the street just bought an 04 Limited (4WD & all black too!). I found myself getting both jealous and aroused all at the same time.

I want another V10 since gas is about .25+ cheaper than diesel and I've always wanted to add the Banks Powerpack to the V10. But gas here is still 2.26 on the street. I pay 1.99 at COSTCO (wholesale warehouse). Still the lure of PSD has always been VERY strong. For nothing else than for all the POTENTIAL it has inside it!

My wife drives the Expy for the most part and split time between my Grand Caravan (for work) and my Cadillac Catera (for sport...kinda). To take on another 13mpg vehicle could prove deadly to my AMEX card. The van averages 21...

Still looking though...just gotta find a GREAT deal and stop listening to my pragmatic side and start thinking more emotionally. I LOVED and greatly miss my old Excursion.

In Hilo is a beautiful PSD, 2WD, slightly lowered, white, wearing 20"s very custom Excursion. When I see it I get giddy.

Monsta -- thanks for the tip about E-Bay. I'll give it a shot. I had no idea that Hawaii was as big as Connecticut! I hope you are able to find an X that meets your needs, soon!!
