I just purchased a 2000 Ford Excursion 2-wheel drive with the V-10. I have noticed when I hit a bump i hear a thumping sound under the truck. If the road is very rough,It sounds like the truck is coming apart. I checked all the sway-bar bolts under the front end and they are all tight. Does anyone have any ideas i can check. This truck just turned 99,000 miles.
Thanks guys for all your help.

You might check your spare tire mount. I've heard of guys going crazy trying to find a rattle/bump/thump and find out the spare is not tightened down. Just a thought.
Another thought, is the exhaust system ok? Maybe a support is broken.
