Hey,
Just gotta share a fun story with y'all and do a little bragging. To set the story up:
I have a small airplane at a rural airport outside of Raleigh. Last month we had a surprise severe thunderstorm rubble thru on a Sunday night. It apparently produced some pretty stiff straight-line winds (over 60 mph or more) and ripped the roof RIGHT off my hanger (40' x 40' appx). It also ripped off half my neighbor's roof that was attached to mine!
This is the second time the roof has separated from my hanger and this time my airplane was IN the damn hanger! Good news is I didn't get so much as a single SCRATCH on my airplane. BAD news is this hunk of junk roof was sitting in the grass field behind my hanger and had to be removed.
Since I'm WAY too lazy to dismantle the damn thing, I had the bright idea of hooking up to it with a tow strap and pulling it into the back of the field, out of the way. No telling HOW much those two roofs weigh! I can tell you this though, several of my friends/airport bums saw me hooking up and thought I was crazy - they said it would dig in and I couldn't even BUDGE it. Guess what... 
It DID dig in but I put the X in 4WD low range and yanked that piece of crap slam off the property! 
My boys/airport bums just stood there with their jaws slack!
War Ex. War PSD. It rocks...no doubt about it!
'01 X Limited w/PSD - STOCK all the way..and plan to stay that way. Pockets turned inside out with 4 kids! |

but WAIT a minute !?!?!?

It's a 1961 model... but yeah..it's a hole in the pocket of mammoth proportions. You know how we are with these Excurisions - always something to modify, improve, and spend money on...
Well multiply that a few times and that's what it's like tinkering with an old airplane! Always something to do.
For instance, now I have to re-build my hanger...so there goes my performance chip, sway bars, gauges, lift, groceries for a month and I'll have to potty train the baby early! Diapers are $30 a box! Ha.
But hey - priorities are priorties! Can't have my baby sitting out in the weather...the airplane that is.

Darn....
that's almost as old as ME ?!?!?
but I'd second the the chip upgrade - it's a fuel saver too !!!
Don't know if I could do without the predator !!!
