I just purchased a new 2003 X from my local dealer here in Texas. Part of the selling point was the rear sway bar added for 2003. I looked under my truck this afternoon, and to my amazement, it was not there. I called my dealer's parts department, and looked it up on the service CD. Ford claims that it is not required and is not being installed. I inquired with the parts man to see if it was available, it is not.
I will be installing an aftermarket one asap.
This is the 2nd thing I have found on my truck that is not up to par. The 6 CD indash stereo with DVD quit working 7 days after I brought the truck home. Took it to Ford, and was told that everything is fine. BS. If you buy a top of the line truck, one would expect everything to work as advertised. My 99 Explorer has rubber cup holder inserts that fit in the console. This is a nice feature, because you can put them in the dishwasher to clean them. The X looks like it would use the same insert, but my Ford dealer says that they are also not standard. WTF.

I only have 900 Miles on it now. I have been getting 13.1 MPG so far. I have 3.73 rears and a heavy foot. I have been trying to watch my take offs but what fun is that? I am getting ready to install the K&N intake and a new exhaust system. I am then interested in MPG changes.
