Got a quick question for the Excursion crowd and would appreciate your opinion. (owned, and worked on Fords for 20 years but I'm not too familiar with the Excursion) I've been looking at Excursions for a few months and found one I like but the mileage seems low for the year. It's an 2001, V-10, auto trans, Limited, 4X4, tan leather, all black exterior (bumpers, grille, door handles etc), every option. totally stock and very clean. Runs and drives great! Here's the kicker, it's on a dealer lot with only 17,000 miles for $27,900. How does the price sound? Do the '01's have any unique problems? 17K miles just seems kinda low for an '01. I'd appeciate your opinion.
Thanks,
Mike

I used two sources for price checking when I was x-shopping. Kelly Blue book (www.kbb.com) and autotrader.com. I ended up finding one on autotrader that I liked better than the ones I was seeing locally. Had to drive 150 miles one way to get it. It was well worth it. I love my X, and I have always been a Chevy guy. I have seen the light.

Mike

if its any help to you..

I just bought a 2002 V-10 with 17k miles. 2 weeks ago. It was pristine inside and out.. and this was before dealer doll up.. It is XLT with almost all options other than heated seats and DVD. I paid $26k for it... No trade, mostly cash.

I did months of research.. I went to 4 other dealers who didnt have ANY Excursions on the lot, new or used... When I walked into the last dealer the salesman said, "yep, we just got one in" and there it was.. I loved it at first sight.. and drove it without asking the price. cuzz I was SURE the price was going to be more than I planned and at least wanted to enjoy the drive.. lol Asking price was $28.9 but worked them down to $26.

I would have preferred the PSD, but cant find any around with low miles...

thisis the best "road trip" vehicle I have owned, kids and wife love it and it looks great... Now my sons wants to use it for his Senior Ball... I said "sure, only if I drive you around like a chauffer so I can watch ya" lol

Good luck with your shopping... I love my X and am glad I bought it...

KBB and NADA differ a lot especially on Excursions. When I looked up my wifes Excursion value KBB was $4,000 higher than NADA. Edmonds is another option but most banks and insurance companies use NADA.
