What is the brown illumination wire for on the Ford harness. My Prodigy only has four wires and no brown one.

Don't take my word for it, but I believe the brown wire is your running lights. PLEASE NOTE - BEFORE you hook up and energize that expensive Prodigy unit (I have one, too ... they're great), make certain you've double-checked what each wire does ... double-checked each wire's functionality with a meter. I did, and I found the aftermarket harness (not the Prodigy unit, but the part you wire into the Prodigy's wiring leads & plug into the Excursion harness), had their wires identified wrong. I went back and corrected the situation. If I had fried that Prodigy unit, I'm certain I would've been out of a nice piece of change, and would've had to buy another.

I don't have any pics but just put it this way... I RAILED my right knee on it when I jumped my my X to come home from work . Hurt like hell! I'm not going to complain, though, that's the first time I've done that.

One of the issues to struggle with is that the brake module cannot exceed 70° from being level. That kinda limits the number of mounting locations without considering some customization or it being in the way of something.

I installed mine in the same location I had it in my F250. I never hit my knee on it in the truck.

Oh, and the Prodigy is a rockin' controller. Nothing better, in my opinion.
