My Excursion is a 2000 Limited with V10/ 3/73 rear and supposedly the tow package. Ford cannot tell me if it has a trans cooler or not. It was delivered in Feb 2000. In frront of radiator there is a small black type cooler. However in tracing the lines they go to some type canister on drivers side. Anyone have ideas? I am also trying to get a service record and a build record for my vehicle which I just bought with 17,500 original miles

I checked the manual and also checked my X. Mine is 2000 with V-10 and 3.73. It has a tranny cooler which is located between the rad. and a/c cond. You can see it if you look down through the hood latch opening, it is is the bottom half of the gap. Service record should be obtainable through dealer, though it may not be complete, if work has been performed by an individual not in the network. Good Luck.

The little cooler you see is the power steering fluid cooler.

the first models built in 99 were NOT installed with a cooler but there was a tsb on this. All since were built with a cooler. I have just bought a aux one to run with the factory one. A little extra cooling.
