I have a 2003 Excursion w/ electric seats and if you don't put on your seat belt, the ringer goes off on the dash about every 3 minutes. I know the easiest and smartest thing to do is simply put on the seat belt, but I'm in and out of the truck about a 1000 times a day, so...
I tried disconnecting the connection below the seat and running a jumper from one wire to the other on the harness (which usually works on other stuff), but that didn't do it. It still goes off and drives me nuts!
Anyone know a way of turning the warning ringer off?
Also, is there a way to prevent the truck from automatically locking the doors everytime the engine starts. I've already locked my keys in once, while the motor was running. And it's also a total hassle that even when you shut off the truck, only the drivers door unlocks. So, I end up on the other side of the truck, and you guessed it, the damn doors locked. So I have to go back around the truck and unlock all the doors with the switch.
WHY CAN'T THINGS JUST BE SIMPLE-HELP!!!
Thanks,
Ron

Either look in your owners manual which is supposed to have the directions or go to

www.thedieselstop.com and go under Excursion and look at one of the recent posts there is detailed directions that shows how you can rid the noise yourself in your driveway. I usually either buckle up or press the button.

There is also directions to rid the door locks on the same post, which will prolong the life of the actuators.

Thanks for the reply Doug. I tried searching that site, but cannot find any detailed info. Do you have any ideas how to locate the info on the other site?
Thanks,
Ron

Ron,
I found it in and did it from my owners manual...
worked like a champ - if I recall it was a bunch of key on and offs and click and unclick in a particular sequence...

I buckle my seat belt all the time... but sometimes when moving around the proprty I don't need to...

Piece of cake. It was all pretty much spelled out in the 'owner's manuel'.
Thanks

The simple quick solution is to simply push in on the red release button for the Seat Belt. It will quiet the warning until you remove the key.
