I did a bonehead thing last night, I grounded my remote wire to my amp body while the stereo was on. Now the only thing that will work on my stock deck is the clock and the eject buttons. Is there an inline fuse that goes to the stock deck, as on aftermarket decks? Or have I fried it? I wanted to upgrade to an MP3 player eventually, just not yet.
Also has anyone upgraded their 6 stock speakers? Was it a large improvement with the stock deck? Especially as far as treble is concerned as I have an amp and subs that have taken care of the lack of bass.
Thanks in advance.

I'm assumeing that you checked all the fuses, Sometimes the radio and the stock amp will have different fuses. as far as going to aftermarket speakers you can't go wrong. Changing the speakers will make the stock deck sound twice as good. Try looking into putting tweeters up high to get more treble. - Bill

You may be lucky and the mfg's put some protection in the remote circuit.
This may be a fuse, or a diode. Its not totaly toast since you still have power in the clock and eject system.
IF your not into electronics, give it to someone who knows what they are doing and its likely a simple fix.
